CPD Seminar – Retaining Structures
Tuesday, March 8, 2022 @ 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm
£30 – £40Retaining structures are a feature of most construction projects to achieve differences in levels and maximise developable space. They come in many forms and the Engineer must select the most appropriate retaining solution given the development requirements and site constraints. Development of the second generation of Eurocodes is now well underway and will bring major changes to geotechnical design, including the design of retaining structures. This seminar will cover key aspects of retaining wall design to the existing and new Eurocode 7, including:
- Selection of retaining wall types
- Basis of design of retaining structures
- Design of semi-gravity retaining walls
- Design of embedded retaining structures (such as secant and contiguous piled walls)
There will be an interval half way through the afternoon and the seminar will conclude with an opportunity for delegate to ask the speaker questions in relation to retaining wall selection and design.
This seminar is recommended for all structural engineers involved in the design, specification, or SER certification of retaining walls. This seminar is recommended for 4 hours CPD.
