OCCUPATIONAL CANCER - NO TIME TO LOSE! by Speaker Prof John Cherrie
Professor Cherrie is presented with the CPDC James Attwood Shield, by The Provost of Inverness Helen Carmichael (with CPDC-HI Chair Alan Higgins and IOSH President Karen McDonnell).
John Cherrie is Professor of Human Health at Heriot Watt University and Principal Scientist at the Institute of Occupational Medicine in Edinburgh - and has been involved in a major research programme to benchmark the problem of occupational cancer in Britain.
He gave a comprehensive talk on steps to take now to protect future generations from the Cancer risk 8,000 people in the UK die each year from various forms of cancer which is work related - all deaths from causes which could have been prevented.
